How do I completely remove X-Factor from my machine?
- Macintosh - To completely remove X-Factor from a Mac OS X machine follow the steps listed below. If you have run either of the installers, some of these steps may have already been performed. To Remove the X-Factor Plugin 1) Trash the GridIron X-Factor folder from the After Effects 6.5 Plug-ins folder To Remove the X-Factor Status Icon From the Menu Bar 1) Stop the X-Factor service (click on the X-Factor Status icon and select Stop Service) 2) Open the Activity Monitor (Applications->Utilities->Activity Monitor) 3) Open the Activity Monitor viewer by selecting from the top menu bar Window->Activity Monitor) 4) Find the process named xlr8stat and click on Quit Process 5) Close the Activity Monitor To Remove the XLR8 Application Files 1) Open a Finder window 2) In the main menu select Go->Go To Folder 3) In the Go To Folder window type: /usr/local (then click on Go) 4) Click on the folder "xlr8" and move it to the trash (you may be prompted for the admin password) Clean up your Login Items 1) Open the System Preferences 2) Click on Accounts 3) Click on the Login Items tab 4) Click on xlr8dApp and then click on "-" at the bottom of the window 5) Click on xlr8Stat and then click on "-" at the bottom of the window Clean up Firewall Entries 1) Open the System Preferences 2) Click on Sharing 3) Click on the Firewall tab 4) Click on the entry XLR8 in the list box 5) Click on Delete - Windows - To completely remove X-Factor from a Mac OS X machine follow the steps listed below. If you have run either of the installers, some of these steps may have already been performed. 1) Go to 'Add or Remove Programs' 2) Remove GridIron XLR8 first 3) Remove GridIron X-Factor second 4) You can remove the 'GridIron X-Factor' folder from C:\Program Files\Adobe\After Effects 6.5\Support Files\Plug-ins (in case anything like logs were left behind) |
